DEKALB COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED SECOND-DEGREE MURDER
WSMV reports that in DeKalb County, Tennessee, a 23-year-old man named Ayden Awan White has been charged with attempted second-degree murder following a shooting that occurred Monday morning in Smithville (or nearby Liberty area).
Authorities responded around 10:37 a.m. to a location on Lot B at 194 Tubbs Street, where they discovered a male victim lying in the front yard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies and emergency medical services provided initial treatment before the victim was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Nashville for further care. White was present at the scene when officers arrived, leading to his detention that day; after further investigation, he was formally arrested and charged.
The relationship between White and the victim remains unclear, and Sheriff Patrick Ray has not released additional details regarding the victim’s age, specific injuries, current condition, or any connection to the suspect, stating that no further updates were available at the time.
White’s bond has been set at $375,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 5.
