HARRIMAN UTILITY BOARD GIVES UPDATE ON POWER OUTAGES

Posted by Harriman Utility Board:

Power Outage Recovery Update – Monday at 3:30 p.m.
We are incredibly thankful for the mutual aid support assisting HUB as restoration efforts continue across our service area. Storm damage caused at least 12-15 broke poles across our system, which is where we will focus much of their efforts today. The additional crews have allowed us to make steady progress and reach multiple impacted areas simultaneously.
Current work locations include:
• Sevier County Electric System crews are working in the Babahatchee, Piney Church, Bill Ruppe, Tunnel Hill, and Ro Mo areas.
• Alcoa Electric System crews are working in the Phillips Hollow area and will move next to Blair, Hicks, and Simpson Roads.
• Cleveland Utilities crews are working in the Woods Chapel Road area and will then head to Coal Hill Road.
• Gainesville Regional Utilities (Florida) crews are working along Airport Road to help the Oakdale area.
• Loudon Utilities crews are working in the Clifty Creek Road area.
• In addition to helping the mutual aid crews listed above, HUB’s team is covering Pleasant View, Polland Hollow, Sexton Loop, as well as the Oliver Springs area and Castle Road.
Please remember that restoration can take time, especially in areas with extensive damage or multiple repairs required. We truly appreciate your patience and support as our crews and mutual aid partners continue working safely to restore power to every customer.
We will continue to share updates as progress is made. We will also try to highlight some of the work crews are doing by sharing photos. This was a storm they won’t soon forget.

Power Outage Recovery Update – Monday at 9:00 a.m.
HUB continues to make steady progress restoring power and is grateful for the additional storm recovery assistance arriving today from Cleveland Utilities, the City of Alcoa, and Sevier County Electric System. These crews will be working alongside mutual aid already on the ground from Gainesville Regional Utilities, Loudon Utilities, and Dark Horse Electric, who arrived yesterday to support our teams.
Our crews worked into the early morning hours—until approximately 3:00 a.m.—to complete repairs where conditions allowed. In Oakdale, frozen ground and rocky terrain delayed the installation of several replacement poles overnight. Those locations are a priority and work will resume there this morning as conditions improve.
Today, crews are returning to the same affected areas to continue repairs, focusing on restoring service to customers as safely and efficiently as possible. More complex repairs and areas requiring pole replacements may take additional time, but progress is ongoing across the system.
We truly appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as this recovery continues. Please know that every available resource is being used to restore service as quickly and safely as possible, and we will continue to provide updates throughout the day.
