MULTIPLE SEMI TRUCKS CRASH ON ICY I-40 AND HIGHWAY 68 OVER THE WEEKEND
The Tennessee Highway Patrol gave information on several reported motor vehicle accidents, some involving injuries that took place over the weekend. The accidents took place primarily on Interstate 40, many occurring amid snow and ice conditions.
Key incidents include:
- A semi truck (hauling frozen chicken, driver Casamayor Yoelis) that went off I-40 EB at MM 335 into the woods around 1:57 AM (originally reported ~11:57 PM Sat), left roadside for later towing.
- Another CMV (Freightliner hauling US mail, driver Mary V. Jackson) off the right shoulder into woods at I-40 EB MM 337 around 1:52 AM (originally ~11:52 PM Sat).
- A 2020 Freightliner semi (driver Michael Alohan) that rear-ended a TDOT salt/dump truck (driver Joshua Molands) at I-40 EB MM 332 around 3:24 AM Sun, attributed to snow/ice.
- A semi wreck at I-40 WB MM 329 (reported ~5:45 AM Sun and earlier ~3:21 PM Sat)
- A vehicle (possibly a silver 2015/2017 Toyota Tacoma, driver Joshua E. Wright) that went off the road at 3758 Hwy 68 in Crossville around 12:40 AM (originally reported 10:40 AM Sat).
- A car overturned at I-40 EB MM 334 around 3:22 AM Sun.
- A semi in the woods at I-40 EB MM 335 around 5:48 AM Sun.
