ROANE COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING TONIGHT
The Roane County Commission is scheduled to meet this Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the courthouse in Kingston. Under new business, the agenda includes several items: authorizing the donation of surplus AEDs to the local rescue squad and fire departments; approving a contract with Fleenor Securities for securing the health department facility; approving a three-year agreement with Stryker Medical Equipment for the ambulance service; and passing a resolution to allow Southern Software Incorporated to continue providing services for the sheriff’s office inmate database.
Additional resolutions include establishing fire hydrant use restrictions as required by TDEC, which would prohibit local volunteer fire departments from placing hydrants on 6-inch water lines serving at least 25 residences in the area; creating the position of chaplain for the Roane County Commission; reaffirming the county’s participation in the statewide opioid settlement agreements and authorizing the county executive to execute the annual letters of agreement; and addressing several budget amendments to certain funds within the county budget.
The meeting is open to the public, and citizens are always welcome to attend and address the commission on any issue of concern.
