STANLEY HALL DEEMED NOT QUALIFIED TO RUN AS REPUBLICAN
Cumberland County Road Superintendent Stanley Hall has been notified by the Tennessee State Republican Party that he is not qualified to run as a Republican in the upcoming May primary. The disqualification stems from the fact that he did not vote in the Republican primary in three of the last four such elections, failing to meet the party’s loyalty or affiliation requirements for ballot access under its rules.
Inquiries have been made to the state party for a full explanation of the applicable regulations. Reports indicate that Hall may choose to withdraw his petition to run as a Republican and instead file to run as an Independent. He had been set to face challenger Kevin Music in the Republican primary for the road superintendent position.
This development comes amid Cumberland County’s shift to partisan primaries for certain county offices, including this race, in the 2026 election cycle.
