These closures may temporarily reduce traffic to a single lane. Uniformed police officers will be present in these work zones to assist with traffic management and to enforce traffic laws. Nighttime lane closures from 8 PM to 6 AM are scheduled on I-24 East and West between Germantown Road and through the I-75 interchange for placement of permanent thermoplastic pavement markings, shoulder rumble strips and to work on various punch list items. This night work will continue weekly from Sunday through Thursday during the month of February. The contractor will have daytime lane closures (9 AM to 3 PM) on North and South Terrace for various pavement repairs, milling and final pavement. This work is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, weather permitting, and will occur weekly through February until completed. As this work on North and South Terrace progresses it will be necessary to temporarily close exit and entrance ramps from I-24 so that crews can safely pave these areas. Paving crews are currently working on North Terrace, the exit ramp (Exit 184) from I-24 West between McBrien Road and South Moore Road is scheduled for temporary closure (9 AM to 3 PM) on Tuesday (2/10) and Wednesday (2/11) weather permitting. Once the paving in this area is complete, they will move to South Terrace and the exit and entrance ramps between Belvoir Avenue and South Moore Road are scheduled for closure on Thursday (2/12) and Friday (2/13). The entrance ramp from South Terrace between South Moore Road and McBrien Road will close the first part of next week (2/16 through 2/20) to continue this paving. Other short-term, temporary ramp closures may be needed in the future to complete small areas (i.e. ramp gore areas, shoulders, lane transitions, etc.) skipped during the normal full width paving of the travel lanes. Message boards, signs and detours will be provided to warn motorists of these closures and to guide them to the next available exit or entrance ramp. The contractor plans to begin working on shifting and opening all lanes on I-75 South and North in their final alignment starting next week from Sunday (2/15) through Thursday (2/19). The first work will occur on I-75 South from the East Brainerd Road interchange (MM 3) to south of the bridge over the CSX railroad (MM 2). There will be nighttime lane closures (9 PM to 6 AM) on I-75 South and during some of these nights the entrance ramp from East Brainerd Road to I-75 South will have to be temporarily closed to safely remove conflicting lane lines and establish the new final traffic lane alignment. Message boards, signs and detours will be provided to warn motorists of these closures and to guide them to an available entrance ramp to I-75 South. Once the traffic shifts on I-75 South are complete then the contractor will move to I-75 North and work on realigning and opening these lanes. To fully transition all traffic lanes on I-75 South and North is anticipated to take several weeks of nighttime closures to complete. Most of the remaining work items on this project are temperature and weather sensitive. If any of them are canceled due to inclement conditions, they will be rescheduled to take place on the next available day and time when adequate conditions exist. It may also be necessary to do short duration (15 to 30 minutes) rolling roadblocks during the day or night for patching potholes, clearing debris or repairing guardrail, attenuators, etc.
