PUTNAM COUNTY JURY CONVICTS MAN OF AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH HANDGUN
On February 24, 2026, a jury in Putnam County found 39-year-old Joshua Franklin Pritchard guilty of aggravated assault involving the use or display of a deadly weapon—specifically a semi-automatic handgun—as well as domestic assault.
The convictions stemmed from an incident on June 14, 2025, when Cookeville Police Department officers responded to a report of an ongoing physical domestic disturbance, leading to Pritchard’s arrest following their investigation.
Judge Bray accepted the jury’s verdict and scheduled Pritchard’s sentencing hearing for March 19, 2026. The case was prosecuted at trial by Assistant District Attorneys Jenna Huff and Evan Smith.
