3.2 MILLION WEBER-STEPHEN METAL WIRE BRUSHES RECALLED FOR INGESTION HAZARD

Weber-Stephen Products LLC is recalling approximately 3.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes due to a serious ingestion hazard. The small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes, potentially sticking to the grill grates or food, and if swallowed, they pose a risk of causing severe internal injuries to the digestive tract or throat, which may require surgical removal.
The recall, announced on February 26, 2026 (recall number 26-282), affects specific models with plastic or bamboo/wood handles ranging from 12 to 21 inches long, including model numbers 6277, 6278, 6463, 6464, 6493, and 6494. These brushes, manufactured in China and Cambodia, were sold from 2011 through 2026 (with varying date ranges by model) for $10 to $17 at retailers such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Target, Amazon, Weber.com, and on resale sites like eBay.

Weber has received at least 38 reports of bristles detaching, including four cases where consumers swallowed them and required medical treatment. Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled brushes and contact Weber toll-free at 877-597-9588 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET) or visit https://weberbrushrecall.expertinquiry.com/ or weber.com (click “Recall Notice” at the bottom) to arrange for a free replacement with a safer cold-cleaning nylon bristle brush. They will need to discard the old metal wire brush.
