KNOXVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATES NON-LIFE-THREATENING STABBING AT MOTEL 6
Last night, just before 7 p.m., Knoxville Police Department (KPD) officers responded to a reported stabbing at the Motel 6 on Merchants Center Boulevard. Upon arrival, they located the victim—a 44-year-old man—who had fled into the woods south of the motel and was found with a non-life-threatening laceration to his neck. He declined medical transportation to a hospital.
The victim reported being assaulted by an unknown man while standing in the motel stairway, but officers found no evidence of the incident at the reported location. The victim was largely uncooperative, unable or unwilling to provide details about the events leading up to the assault, and explicitly stated he did not wish to prosecute.
Although officers canvassed the area and identified several potential witnesses, they could not locate anyone matching the limited suspect description provided. No suspect has been positively identified, and KPD’s Homicide and Violent Crime detectives continue to investigate the incident.
