DRUNK TEEN VANDALIZES HOTEL ROOM AFTER MYSTERIOUS BEATING AT RED ROOF INN IN CROSSVILLE
On February 17, 2026, at approximately 10:02 PM, officers from the Crossville Police Department responded to the Red Roof Inn in Crossville, regarding a report of a male with blood on his face claiming his wallet had been stolen. Upon arrival, they encountered 19-year-old Kalun Kalani Valle, a nonresident from Many, Louisiana, who exhibited severe facial injuries—including a laceration above his right eye, extensive blood on his face and clothing, and nearly swollen-shut eyes—along with clear signs of heavy intoxication, such as an odor of alcohol, unsteadiness, and slurred speech. Valle repeatedly claimed he had been beaten and robbed, initially misidentifying his room number before officers located his assigned room, 219, where his wallet was found inside.
The room was extensively damaged, with destruction to the bathroom mirror, counter, and sink; the bed, chair, refrigerator, television, and bedroom mirror; and blood covering the bed and clothing. Video footage from hallway cameras later showed Valle exiting his room with visible injuries, kicking the railing, descending the stairs, briefly interacting with guests from another room who tried to assist him, and then refusing help before heading to the lobby. Due to his intoxication level, no assault report could be substantiated. Valle was arrested on-view around 10:53 PM and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
He faced charges of vandalism, public intoxication, and violation of the drinking age law. The incident was cleared by arrest. Initial damage estimates were around $1,500, but an itemized list obtained on March 3, 2026, detailed destroyed or damaged items—including a vanity mirror, sink, office chair, large mirror, TV, hair dryer, linens (pillows, pillowcases, blankets, coverlets, sheets), a lamp, towel, cleaning fees, and $800 in lost revenue—totaling $3,383.03.
