MAJOR HEATHERLY RETIRES AFTER 28 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE T.H.P.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has extended heartfelt congratulations to Major Stacey Heatherly on her retirement from the Tennessee Highway Patrol after 28 years of dedicated service to the state.
As Major of the Eastern Tennessee Region, which encompasses Morgan County, she led with professionalism, strength, and an unwavering commitment to public safety, leaving a lasting impact on both the troopers under her command and the communities she helped protect.
Her resilience has been especially notable since February of last year, when she was involved in a serious, life-altering crash on Highway 62 in the Sunbright area while responding to a tornado—after being struck by an impaired driver.
Sheriff Rick Hamby expressed pride in calling her not only a respected colleague but also a friend, and the office thanked her for her exemplary service while wishing her continued healing and every blessing in her well-deserved retirement.
