BUC-EE’S GETS “F” RATING FROM BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR UNANSWERED CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has assigned Buc-ee’s an “F” rating, primarily due to the company’s failure to respond to 88 customer complaints filed against it. Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas-based chain of large convenience stores and travel centers, is not BBB-accredited, and multiple locations across states like Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas have received this failing grade as of March 2026. The BBB’s rating system, which ranges from A+ to F, evaluates businesses on factors including complaint history, transparency, and responsiveness to customer issues—though individual customer reviews do not directly influence the grade.

Complaints date back several years (with some references to patterns as far back as 2019), and many highlight difficulties in contacting the company, such as the absence of a public phone number, forcing customers to rely solely on the website for inquiries. Specific issues raised in complaints include problems with refunds, billing errors, disputes over store policies, and other concerns like malfunctioning equipment or overcharges.

Customers often reported that attempts to resolve these matters—whether through store managers or online submissions—went unanswered. The BBB noted that Buc-ee’s has explicitly indicated it will not respond to complaints forwarded by the organization, which has significantly contributed to the low rating. While Buc-ee’s enjoys a strong reputation for clean facilities and customer appeal among many visitors, this lack of engagement with the BBB’s complaint resolution process has led to the failing assessment.
