CUMBERLAND COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION SURVEY RESULTS RELEASED

The results of a recent job satisfaction survey in the Cumberland County School System have been released. The school board will review these results at its meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Officials say 338 teachers, 59 paraprofessionals, 9 bus drivers, 11 custodians, 3 maintenance, 15 nutrition workers, 9 school nurses, 32 administrative assistants, and 3 technology employees took part in the survey.

The results are as follows:

Using a scale from 1-5, with 1 being extremely dissatisfied to 5 being extremely satisfied, the first task asked employees to rank their work. It states 38 percent are satisfied, 33.4 percent are extremely satisfied, 20 percent are neutral, 7.3 percent are dissatisfied, and 1.3 percent are extremely dissatisfied

The next subject asked employees to rank their benefits. It states 38.6 percent were satisfied, 38.4 percent were extremely satisfied, 15 percent were neutral, 5.6 percent were dissatisfied, and 2.3 percent were extremely dissatisfied.

When it came to pay from the school system, 33.4 percent were neutral, 25.3 percent were dissatisfied, 22.1 percent were satisfied, 11.3 percent were extremely dissatisfied, and 7.9 percent were extremely satisfied.

For overall job satisfaction, 41.5 percent were satisfied, 39.7 percent were extremely satisfied, 12.9 percent were neutral, 5.2 percent were dissatisfied, and .6 percent were extremely dissatisfied.

The last topic asked participants of the survey to select their most important factor leading to the highest job satisfaction. It states 42 percent selected working conditions, 33.6 percent named pay, and 24.4 percent chose benefits.
