Roane State Community College proudly announced the recognition of several students and graduates at PTK Catalyst 2026, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s annual convention held in Baltimore, Maryland. Deborah Porter was inducted into the PTK Alumni Hall of Honor for her positive impact on PTK chapters, the community, and fellow members; only 28 individuals are selected each year, with one honoree per region.

Zachary Dukes earned the Distinguished Chapter Member Award, placing him among just 30 recipients nationwide out of approximately 230,000 active PTK members.

Additionally, Brian Smith was celebrated for having been named a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar the previous year, an honor awarded to him from more than 600 applicants along with a $1,000 scholarship; he was also previously recognized with Roane State’s Outstanding Freshman Award. The college expressed deep pride in these outstanding Roane State Raiders for their achievements.
