THIRTEEN CUMBERLAND COUNTY VETERANS TO PARTICIPATE IN FINAL HONORAIR FLIGHT
Thirteen veterans from Cumberland County will participate in HonorAir Knoxville’s final flight, scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026. This marks the last trip organized by the all-volunteer nonprofit, which has spent nearly two decades flying East Tennessee veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials honoring their service.
The Cumberland County veterans, identified by the county’s HonorAir Knoxville representative Gus Gocella via the Crossville Chronicle, are:
– Richard Binney
– Thomas Clayton
– William Grimes
– Michael Kinkead
– John Mayfield
– Michael McMahon
– Charles Nipper
– James Potts
– Seth Reichenbach
– Gary Rogers
– Jerry Sparks
– Harris Vandergriff
– Ben Yagodziniski
These 13 local veterans will join more than 130 East Tennessee veterans on Flight 38, departing from Knoxville to experience the nation’s gratitude firsthand at the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War memorials. Priority for the final flight has been given to veterans who had “boots on the ground.”
