ROANE FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND AFTER DIESEL TANK EXPLOSION

Last night, members of the Midtown Fire Department, East Roane County fire personnel, and others responded to 124 Orchard Road, which runs off Holder Ford Road in East Roane County, after a diesel tank exploded at a residence.
A couple of gas cans and a vehicle also caught fire, with the vehicle sustaining damage near the home. According to 911 dispatch, the occupants inside the residence could not leave due to the fire’s close proximity.
They remained in place until firefighters extinguished the blazes after about 20 minutes on scene. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
