The Roane County Sheriff’s Office announced that their Roane County Detention Facility recently received a CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) certificate of recognition from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services.

The award honors the facility for its outstanding commitment to ensuring staff members receive thorough training on mental health conditions, along with the effective use of verbal de-escalation techniques. It also acknowledges the facility’s strong emphasis on maintaining clear and productive communication with its mental health partners.
