WARTBURG POLICE ARREST TWO IN DRUG BUST, SEIZE COCAINE, FENTANYL, AND OTHER NARCOTICS
On April 17, 2026, officers from the Wartburg Police Department—Officer Sarah Posey, Officer Wesley King, and Chief Mike Rayder—along with assistance from the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) Probation & Parole and the Harriman Police Department K-9 Unit, conducted a coordinated operation at an apartment on South Kingston Street in Wartburg, Tennessee.
The operation resulted in the arrests of two local residents: Charles J. Kimblin, 52, and Jessica D. Lively, 48, both of Wartburg. They face multiple charges, including manufacture, sale, and delivery of cocaine, as well as simple possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana, plus possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the search, authorities seized approximately 6.4 grams of cocaine, 1.0 gram of fentanyl, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, and 10.1 grams of marijuana. They also recovered various items of drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, plastic baggies, a measuring spoon, smoking pipes with residue, hypodermic needles, a cut straw, rolling papers, and two glass pipes found in an associated vehicle.
The Wartburg Police Department expressed appreciation for the partnership with TDOC Probation & Parole and the Harriman Police K-9 Unit. In a note accompanying the release, the department explained that it will now routinely identify adult arrestees to promote greater transparency, as arrest records are public under Tennessee law, while juveniles will continue to be protected from identification.
