FORMER THP TROOPER WITH HISTORY OF MISCONDUCT INDICTED FOR EXPLOSIVE ATTACK

Former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Isaiah Lloyd faces criminal charges after a history of documented misconduct, including unauthorized actions, improper evidence handling, and endangering a child during a high-speed chase. Despite resigning from the THP in 2015 to avoid termination and suffering a suspended certification, Lloyd continued to be employed by the LaFollette Police Department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 4 to face charges of official misconduct and witness coercion.
Isaiah Lloyd’s recent indictment highlights a pattern of alleged misconduct that has spanned multiple law enforcement agencies. The specific charges against himβ€”official misconduct and coercing or influencing a witnessβ€”stem from a January 2024 incident where he is accused of vandalizing property and throwing an explosive device at a homeowner while employed by the LaFollette Police Department.
