According to a report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, On May 6, 2026, at 12:00 AM a single-vehicle crash occured on Old Jamestown Highway, approximately 184 feet north of Methodist Campground Drive.

Nancy Laray Jones (38, of Pikeville, TN), driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on the wet roadway, lost control while negotiating a right curve. She overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to spin 180 degrees, leave the roadway to the right, and strike a utility pole with the rear of the vehicle.

The driver was properly restrained, not injured, and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the rear and was towed.
