The Kingston Police Department and Kingston Fire Department responded to two separate accidents in the city today. One incident occurred around 9 a.m. on North Kentucky Street, causing temporary lane restrictions and resulting in minor injuries.

A more serious three-vehicle crash took place at the intersection of Swan Pond Road and Highway 70, where two people were injured and significant traffic delays occurred. Images from the scene showed heavy damage to the vehicles involved.

In response to ongoing safety concerns at this busy location—where officers already direct traffic each afternoon around 3:30 p.m. as Tennessee Valley Authority employees exit—the Tennessee Department of Transportation plans to install a traffic signal, potentially within the next month.
