Sunshine dominates much of the forecast with only isolated thunderstorm chances during the middle and latter part of the week.

Wednesday: A slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with highs ranging from the mid 70s across the Cumberland Plateau to around 80 in the Tennessee Valley. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph, becoming northwest late with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 to 30 percent.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear and cooler, with lows ranging from the mid 40s on the Plateau to the upper 40s in the Valley. North to northwest winds 5 to 10 mph with occasional gusts up to 20 mph.

Thursday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs ranging from the upper 60s across the Plateau to the lower 70s in the Valley. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with lows in the mid 40s. Light north winds becoming calm overnight.

Friday: Sunny and warmer. Highs ranging from the upper 70s on the Plateau to around 80 in the Valley. Light south winds developing during the afternoon.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with lows in the upper 50s.

Saturday: A slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and warm, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph with occasional gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain around 20 percent.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm. Lows around 60.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm, with highs ranging from the mid 80s on the Plateau to the upper 80s in the Valley.
