ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER DATA CENTER ZONING ORDINANCES TONIGHT

The Rockwood City Council is scheduled to hold its meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, with a Budget Workshop beginning at 5:00 p.m. The agenda opens with standard proceedings including a welcome and call to order by Mayor Jolly, a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, roll call of council members, approval of minutes from April 27, 2026, and presentation of financial reports through April 30, 2026, followed by committee reports and public comments.

Under Old Business, the council will hold public hearings and second readings on two zoning ordinances: one amending the zoning code definitions to include data centers, and another adding data centers as a permitted use in the M-1 Light Industrial District (subject to Board of Zoning Appeals approval).

New Business includes first reading of Ordinance 13-35 adopting the annual budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027), along with resolutions approving the Rockwood Municipal Airport Master Plan Update, the Airport Emergency Plan, and a measure ensuring no funds are appropriated for the NovaTech Contract in the upcoming budget. Other items include approval to purchase a mower for the golf course, declaring library computers as surplus, and approval of budget amendments.

The meeting will close with announcements of upcoming sessions, including a June 22, 2026 budget workshop and council meeting for the budget’s second reading, plus a potential special meeting on June 29 if needed for final budget adjustments. Members of the public may speak by notifying the Mayor during the public comment period.
