CHILDREN’S SQUEEZING TOY SOLD AT WALMART RECALLED FOR POSSIBLE ASBESTOS CONTAMINATION
The Orb Factory is recalling approximately 121,340 Orb Funkee Squeeze Toys because they may contain fibrous tremolite (asbestos) in the sand filling, which poses a risk of adverse health effects if inhaled. The recall, issued on May 21, 2026, affects two models with date code 3102491A: the large golden monkey (model 17451) and an assortment of small “monkees” in colors such as orange, purple, and green (model 41929). These soft, stretchable sand-filled toys were sold at Walmart and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet stores nationwide from February 2025 through April 2026 for $5 to $40.
Consumers should immediately stop using the toys and keep them away from children. To receive a refund, contact The Orb Factory at 800-741-0089 (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday), email [email protected], or visit www.orbtoys.com and click “RECALL INFORMATION.” The company requires verification of the date code and lot number, along with specific instructions for safely packaging and photographing the toy for return. Special double-bagging and disposal precautions apply if the toy is damaged or leaking sand. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The products were imported by The Orb Factory Limited (dba ORB Toys) of Canada and manufactured in China.
