DRUGS FOUND AS DEPUTIES EXECUTE SEARCH WARRANT ON APACHE TRAIL IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

On May 20, 2026, Deputy Caleb Charles of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house on Apache Trail in Crossville as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving Kevin George Taylor. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a female, who answered the door.

A strong odor of marijuana was immediately detected coming from inside the residence. Taylor eventually came outside and voluntarily surrendered a marijuana roach after initially denying having more. Based on the odor, Taylor’s statements, and the surrendered evidence, probable cause was established for additional narcotics inside the home. All occupants were detained, read their Miranda rights, and a search warrant was obtained.

During a protective sweep and the subsequent execution of the search warrant (served around 12:53 AM on May 21, 2026), officers located and seized multiple illegal substances with Taylor’s cooperation. This included approximately 6 grams of white powder believed to be fentanyl in plastic baggies and foil bundles, about 12 grams of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, twenty white pills identified as Percocet (found in the female’s purse), and 266 blue/white Gabapentin capsules. Additional items seized included marijuana grinders, digital scales, a cut straw, and multiple partially smoked fentanyl “rails” on aluminum foil, all consistent with both personal use and distribution of narcotics.

Kevin George Taylor, a 45-year-old unemployed resident of Crossville, faces charges for Drug/Narcotic Violations, specifically MFG/DEL/SELL Controlled Substance. All evidence was photographed, collected, and placed into evidence pending lab analysis by the TBI.

The case remains active.
