JACKKNIFED TRACTOR-TRAILER REPORTED ON I-40 NEAR KINGSTON
A traffic incident involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer has caused significant delays on Interstate 40 eastbound in Roane County this morning. The accident, which was reported at 8:59 AM ET near mile marker 354, has blocked both the left lane and the left shoulder of the two-lane highway, heavily restricting the flow of traffic.
As a direct result of the lane closure, substantial congestion has built up behind the crash site. By 9:12 AM ET, backup and slow-moving delays were reported three miles back, stretching to mile marker 351.
While no lanes are explicitly blocked at the mile marker 351 location itself, motorists traveling eastbound through Roane County should expect major delays, exercise extra caution, and seek alternative routes if possible while emergency crews work to clear the scene.
