COMMERCIAL VEHICLE CRASH REPORTED ON I-40 NEAR KINGSTON
On Thursday morning, a crash involving a commercial vehicle at mile marker 360.2 completely closed Interstate 40 eastbound in Roane County, Tennessee, just west of Buttermilk Road. Reported around 6:30 a.m., the incident involved multiple large commercial trucks blocking the roadway, causing traffic to back up nearly to Lawnville Road according to TDOT SmartWay traffic cameras.
While the Tennessee Department of Transportation managed to reopen one lane by 7:25 a.m., cleanup efforts are ongoing, and officials estimate that all lanes will not be fully reopened until approximately 10:00 a.m.
