CROSSVILLE POLICE RESPOND TO TWO INCIDENTS OF LAWN CARE EQUIPMENT THEFT
Crossville Police Officers responded to two separate property theft incidents, both involving lawn care equipment.
In the first incident, Officer Mitchell Park was flagged down on June 1st by a woman from Primrose Court, who reported that her red Toro self-propelled push mower, valued at $150 and lacking a grass clippings bag, had been stolen from her front yard around 3:00 PM on May 30th. While the victim noted that she regularly allows homeless individuals to bathe and eat at her home, she could not identify any suspects, and no surveillance cameras were available in the area.
In the second incident, Officer Brittany Price responded to a theft report at the police department on June 2nd from a man who stated that his orange Husqvarna weed eater was stolen from the side of his house, where it had been concealed behind a piece of plywood. The victim noted the weed eater featured his initials written in black marker on the gas tank, and recalled hearing a strange noise outside around 8:30 PM on June 1st before discovering the item missing the following morning. Although residential neighborhood cameras yielded no information and a neighbor noted a high volume of homeless individuals living in the nearby woods, Officer Price contacted a local rescue squad whose cameras face the property, and they agreed to review their footage for potential suspect details.
