Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley
An active weather day is expected Monday with showers and thunderstorms across the region. Drier and more comfortable weather arrives Tuesday and Wednesday before rain chances gradually return late in the week.
Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, becoming widespread during the day. Highs around 80 on the Cumberland Plateau and 84 in the Tennessee Valley. Gusty southwest winds up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80 to 100 percent.
Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms gradually diminish overnight. Mostly cloudy. Lows around 62 on the Plateau and 66 in the Valley. Chance of rain 60 to 80 percent.
Tuesday: Morning clouds and a lingering shower possible on the Plateau, otherwise becoming mostly sunny. Highs around 79 on the Plateau and 83 in the Valley. Chance of rain 20 percent on the Plateau.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy with patchy fog possible late, especially across the Plateau. Lows around 59 to 62.
Wednesday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 86 in the Valley.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with a slight chance of a late-night shower or thunderstorm. Lows around 63 on the Plateau and 65 in the Valley. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Thursday: Partly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs around 84 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. Chance of rain 30 percent.
