Gail Lewis Cole, age 78, was born on December 7, 1947 to Ralph Leslie and Christine Cope Lewis in Crossville, TN. She was a true Southern Belle and was the epitome of Southern grace, blending “timeless elegance with unwavering hospitality, deep-rooted faith, and quiet resilience”. She did clerical work most of her life, working in the medical field mostly, but also in insurance and banking. She loved her husband deeply, enjoyed being a wife and was a wonderful mother to her two sons. Gail firmly believed that if you “train up a child in the way he should go, that when he was old he would not depart from it.” Gail loved the Lord, and having her name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, closed this earthly chapter on June 19, 2026 and went to her Heavenly Home.
Gail is survived by her husband- Denver Steven Cole, two sons- Denver Steven Cole II (Lori) and Jeremy Stuart Cole, three grand children- Dylan Steven Cole (Carlie), Jeremy Cole (Emmalee), and Stuart Cole, one great grandchild- Maddox Cole, three sisters- Judy Carol Wilson (Bob), Geraldine Raby, and Mavis Kerley, and a brother-in-law- Charles Kerley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters- Barbara Kerley and Dorothy Turner (Cecil), brother- Melvin Lewis (Gladys), brother- in-laws- Eddie Raby and Ronald Kerley, and a daughter-in-law- Dana Cole.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 12 to 2 with a service to follow at 2:00. Bro. Michael Rollins will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Homestead Baptist Church for their Meals on Wheels service to the community.
