Michael Edward Ellis “Doc”, 69

Dr. Michael Edward Ellis “Doc” was born to Thomas and Grace Ellis in Elizabethton, TN on June 2, 1957 and departed this world on July 11, 2026 at his home in Crossville, TN surrounded by his family. Doc loved his farm and it was where he always wanted to be surrounded by his family and friends.

Dr. Ellis was a devoted Chiropractor in Crossville and was loved by many. His smile and warmth were welcoming and immediately made patients feel at ease, and even some as family. When he wasn’t caring for patients, he was on his farm taking care of his cows and could always be found tinkering in his garage. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed giving his guests tours of his property. Many a guest got to see the beauty that he was so in love with and enjoyed daily. He loved anything he could do outdoors…from hunting and fishing to having family over for cookouts and games.

He prized his family over most things and was the patriarch of a perfectly blended family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Claudia Grenga Ellis, his children Edward Ellis, Thomas Ellis and his wife Jessica, Macye Davenport and her husband Chris, Damien Grenga and Jacob Grenga. He also leaves his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy, Theron and Ellis Davenport, his sister Terrie Kole and her husband Richard, and his brother and sisters in law, who cherished him deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeff Kole.

Michael leaves a big hole in his family and friendships. He was a devoted, kind and loving man who always greeted folks with kindness. He was known throughout the area for spreading kindness and generosity. He will be truly missed but his legacy will live on through his family, friends and patients.

In honor of Dr. Ellis, please go out and do something kind in the world. Spread love, sunshine and kindness to those that need it.

Services will be held at the Faith Assembly of God church on Saturday, July 18th. the address is 2155 West Avenue in Crossville. Family will receive friends from 12 to 2 with the service to follow. The officiant will be Pastor Steven Pickard.
