CAR CRASH DAMAGES ROCKWOOD SUBWAY, ONE INJURED
Emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle collision Monday evening that sent one car crashing into the corner of a local restaurant, injuring one person and disrupting local traffic.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on North Gateway Avenue directly in front of Subway. First responders—including the Rockwood Police Department, Rockwood Fire Department, and emergency medical services—arrived at the scene shortly after the vehicles collided.
According to preliminary reports, the impact of the initial crash forced one of the involved vehicles off the roadway and into the corner of the Subway building, resulting in structural damage to the restaurant.
Paramedics treated one injured individual at the scene before transporting them by ambulance to a nearby medical facility. The severity of their injuries has not yet been released.
The crash forced authorities to restrict northbound lanes on North Gateway Avenue while crews worked to investigate the scene and clear the damaged vehicles.
The Rockwood Police Department is currently leading the investigation. Officials stated that additional details will be made public once the official accident report is completed.
