ROANE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RALLIES TO BUILD WHEELCHAIR RAMP FOR INJURED DEPUTY

Members of the Roane County Sheriff’s Office have come together to support one of their own, completing the construction of a brand-new wheelchair ramp for Corporal Aaron Tuggle following a severe injury.

Corporal Tuggle was involved in a serious car accident on July 3, 2026, and is currently facing a long road through extensive rehabilitation. To help make his transition home easier, fellow deputies and department personnel teamed up to build the ramp at his residence.

The community effort was made possible through local support, with Curt Scandlyn and Scandlyn Lumber Company donating all the necessary building materials for the project.

Members of the department who lent their hands to the effort included:

  • Deputy Tommy “Red” Monday

  • Maintenance Supervisor Deputy Scott Stark

  • Deputy Saul Robinette

  • Deputy Zack Criswell

  • Detention Facility Administrator Capt. Keith Emmert

  • Deputy Brandon Parker

  • Inmate Work Crew Supervisor Sgt. Robert Sparkes

Department officials expressed overwhelming pride in Corporal Tuggle’s ongoing recovery progress and commended the team for stepping up to serve a fellow officer in a time of need.
