JEFFREY SILVERTHORN FACES AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CHARGE AFTER ALLEGEDLY THREATENING EX-GIRLFRIEND WITH GUN IN FAIRFIELD GLADE
A local man is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on July 30 following a July 9 incident where he allegedly threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend outside her home.
According to court documents and an affidavit filed by Officer Amber McHargue of the Fairfield Glade Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Lakeshore Circle around 3:00 p.m. on July 9, 2026.
The victim reported to police that her ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey M. Silverthorn, showed up at her doorstep demanding entry. She told officers the couple had been separated for over a year.
During the confrontation, Silverthorn allegedly brandished a black handgun and threatened to shoot her before turning the gun on himself. She refused to open the door and called 9-1-1 after Silverthorn left the scene, telling officers the encounter left her in imminent fear for her life.
Silverthorn has been formally charged with domestic-related aggravated assault, a Class C felony under Tennessee law. He is being represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
