A local woman was arrested late Saturday night after police found her walking half-clothed near an interstate ramp, subsequently threatening to burn down a Crossville gas station.

According to the Crossville Police Department, Officer Shelters was dispatched at approximately 10:32 p.m. on August 1, 2026, to the Exxon station located on Hwy 127 N following reports of a female walking down the road in a bra and shedding her clothes.

Authorities located the individual, identified as Nineta Wilson, walking along the off-ramp heading toward Interstate 40. Upon contact, officers noted a strong odor of alcohol on Wilson, who admitted to consuming three alcoholic beverages. Determining she posed an immediate danger to herself due to the darkness, her level of intoxication, and proximity to the highway, officers took her into custody for public intoxication.

During transport to the Cumberland County Justice Center, Wilson’s behavior escalated. She accused the owner of the Exxon station of being involved in a prostitution ring and the 9/11 attacks, and explicitly threatened to return and “burn the place to the ground” upon her release, adding that she intended to contact the FBI.

Wilson was booked into the Cumberland County Justice Center and charged with public intoxication.
