A 22-year-old man was arrested on July 29 and faces felony charges following an investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor, according to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Eslin Martinez-Villatoro was taken into custody and charged with rape of a child and solicitation of a minor. According to the arrest affidavit, he allegedly used the pseudonym Udiel Martinez to communicate with a 12-year-old female victim via Facebook Messenger and Snapchat.

The illicit relationship came to light when the victim’s mother and sister discovered evidence of the communications while searching the child’s phone. Investigators documented four separate text message threads and an image depicting a sexual act shared between Martinez-Villatoro and the minor.

When questioned by deputies, the victim reported that the photographed incident occurred approximately two weeks prior to the investigation.
