NORTH CAROLINA FUGITIVE ARRESTED IN ROCKWOOD AFTER STANDOFF AND HIGH-TECH SURVEILLANCE TRACE

A late-night traffic stop escalated into a nearly two-hour standoff Tuesday, ending with the arrest of a North Carolina man on multiple charges.

According to Rockwood Police Chief Kelly Pittman, the incident began shortly after 8:30 p.m. when a FLOCK automated license plate reader captured a wanted 2017 black Dodge 1500 crossing the Whites Creek Bridge from Rhea County.

  • The Pursuit: Rockwood Officer Jason Lee spotted the truck on North Gateway and attempted a traffic stop after receiving an alert. The driver refused to pull over, turning onto Tedder Street before getting trapped on a dead-end road near the Rockwood Electric Utility substation.

  • The Standoff: The driver—identified as 33-year-old Nathan Daniel Green—refused to exit the vehicle, triggering a multi-agency response involving Rockwood police, Roane County Sheriff’s deputies, and Tennessee Highway Patrol officers.

  • The Arrest: Following a roughly two-hour standoff, Green surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities recovered methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Green is currently being held at the Roane County Jail without bond facing multiple charges. The truck’s owner in North Carolina has been notified to retrieve the vehicle.
