The City of Crossville formally recognized Firefighter and Advanced EMT Jade Callister for her pivotal role in passing legislation that hardens legal penalties for assaults against emergency personnel.

Following her survival of an on-duty assault in 2025, Callister channeled the experience into statewide advocacy. Her efforts directly contributed to the enactment of Senate Bill 1900, a measure designed to provide stronger safety and legal protections for first responders throughout Tennessee.

Mayor RJ Crawford and city council members commended Callister during a public session, praising her ability to transform personal adversity into meaningful systemic change for emergency workers across the state.
