THOUSAND-DOLLAR BACKPACK THEFT INVESTIGATED BY CROSSVILLE POLICE FOLLOWING INCIDENT AT CCHS PARKING LOT
Local authorities in Crossville are investigating the theft of a black backpack containing roughly $1,000 worth of valuables, personal documents, and electronics from a vehicle parked on Stanley Street.
According to Crossville Police Department reports, officers responded to Cumberland County High School on September 14, 2026, after a motorist reported that a backpack left in the bed of her pickup truck had been taken. The victim stated that her son placed the bag—which featured a green-and-white “Ward Trucking” logo—in the truck bed between 6:45 PM and 7:00 PM. When she returned to her vehicle after attending an event, the bag was gone.
The stolen items carried an estimated total value of $1,000 and included:

Credit cards and Apple AirPods Pros

Vital personal documents, including birth certificates and social security cards

Electronics accessories, such as phone and laptop chargers

A donation check from an orthodontics office

An SMMS Volleyball shirt and a cross-body bag
At the time of the incident, the black Ford F-150 was parked in the third row near space number 50, facing away from the building.
The case has been assigned to Det. Tyrel Lorenz for further review, and no suspects have been identified at this time.
