CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF ISSUES WARNING OVER FRAUDULENT LIVESTOCK FACEBOOK PAGE

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has issued an urgent warning to the public regarding a fraudulent Facebook page posing as “JW Cattle Ranch” to sell livestock. Authorities report that the scam page is illicitly utilizing the physical address of Kimbro Farms. Representatives from Kimbro Farms have confirmed they have no cattle for sale and are entirely unaffiliated with the fake social media account.
Law enforcement officials are urging residents to remain vigilant when making online purchases involving farm equipment and livestock. As a rule of thumb, officials stress that transactions requiring payment methods outside of an in-person exchange are most likely scams. Consumers are strongly advised to thoroughly research and verify online sellers before completing any financial transactions.
