CLINTON HAINES TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING FIRST RESPONDER AFTER ORDER OF PROTECTION SERVED
A Cumberland County man faces criminal charges in court this week on Thursday after allegedly attacking a law enforcement officer who was attempting to serve an order of protection late last month.
According to an arrest warrant filed in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court, Clinton Addison Haines was taken into custody on June 28, 2026, following an incident at a residence on Rebecca Drive.

The Incident: Sgt. Brandon Griffin of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home at approximately 10:58 PM to serve an active order of protection obtained by the suspect’s wife, Isabelle Haines.

The Escalation: After being informed he needed to gather clothes and leave the premises, Haines allegedly became irate, removed his shirt, and advanced toward the officer in a fighting stance. When the officer placed a hand on Haines’s chest to create distance, Haines slapped the hand away.

The Arrest: As the officer attempted to take him into custody, Haines actively resisted by pulling away before being safely handcuffed.
