CUMBERLAND COUNTY SCHOOLS SEEKS PUBLIC FEEDBACK ON TISA ACCOUNTABILITY GOALS
Cumberland County Schools is inviting community members to review and comment on its latest TISA (Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement) Accountability Goals. The public survey is open now through October 15, 2026, on the district’s website.
The district’s annual plan highlights mixed results across two major academic milestones:
-
3rd Grade ELA Proficiency (Goal 1): The district missed its ambitious 2025β2026 target of 40.5% proficiency, coming in at 39.8%. However, CCS successfully met the state’s 15% gap closure requirement. To reach the ultimate goal of 70% proficiency by 2030, the district is shifting from reactive support to proactive, system-wide accountabilityβincluding stricter standards alignment, quarterly county-wide PLCs, enhanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, and new writing professional development.
-
College and Career Readiness (Goal 2): CCS significantly outperformed expectations for college and career readiness (CCR). For the 2025β2026 school year, the district shattered its 55% target by achieving an 88.2% CCR rate, building on strong investments like ACT preparation resources.
Community members can review the full goals and submit feedback through October 15 by visiting the Cumberland County Schools website.
