MULTI-AGENCY MANHUNT UNDERWAY IN ANDERSON COUNTY FOR WANTED FUGITIVE COREY HUFF
Law enforcement agencies are continuing their search today for wanted fugitive Corey Huff following a pursuit and subsequent manhunt in Anderson County.
The incident began Sunday night just before 8 p.m. when Huff was spotted at a gas station along Norris Freeway. An Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted a traffic stop after locating Huff, but he refused to pull over, sparking a vehicle pursuit.
The chase concluded on Carden Gap Road, where Huff abandoned his truck and fled on foot into a dense, heavily wooded area.
A massive multi-agency response was deployed to secure the area, including the Anderson County, Knox County, Union County, and Blount County Sheriff’s Offices, alongside the U.S. Marshals Service. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office also provided crucial aerial support via AirWatch and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Despite a multi-hour search of the heavily wooded terrain, authorities were unable to locate Huff overnight. Knoxville Police Department detectives have since recovered and secured his abandoned vehicle. Search operations are resuming in the Carden Gap Road area today.
