The Tennessee Emergency Management Authority (TEMA) is assisting Overton County following a natural gas line explosion.

According to TEMA, the gas line has been successfully shut off, and a District Coordinator has been deployed to help coordinate response efforts and address any unmet needs in the area.

An initial evacuation order was issued as a precaution by the Overton County Emergency Management Agency, but it has since been lifted. Local officials are urging residents to continue following their instructions as response and recovery operations proceed. TEMA has stated that additional updates will be released as more information becomes available.
