Retired Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Raymond “Indian” Tallent has passed away.

Tallent dedicated many years to public service, including serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1966. He began his career with the PCSO under Sheriff Jerry Abston, serving as a deputy from 1987 to 1998, and later returned to serve as a court deputy under Sheriff Eddie Farris from 2016 to 2022.

Sheriff Farris paid tribute to Tallent’s lifelong commitment to his country and community, offering condolences on behalf of the entire agency to the Tallent family.
