A Putnam County man has been arrested and charged with the burglary of a Monterey business. Officers say 39-year-old Christopher Luther Garrett of Monterey allegedly took merchandise from Phillips Shoe Store and walked out carrying a large knife. Officers took Garrett into custody without incident a few moments later next to the store. Garrett was also charged with simple possession of drugs. Garrett will appear in Putnam County General Sessions Court June 26.
