TWO ARRESTED AFTER INCIDENT INVOLVING FIREARM NEAR HIGH SCHOOL

An incident involving a firearm near Heritage High School in Maryville resulted in two arrests and a person being hunted by authorities. Officers say 19-year-old Marcus A. Fornea of Townsend and a 16-year-old were arrested in regards to the incident. A warrant has been issued for a third person. Police say a 17-year-old Heritage High School student was leaving the school earlier this week when the 16-year-old, with Fornea in a car, yelled a derogatory name to him. The victim left and was traveling on East Lamar Alexander Parkway when Fornea drove up to him, with the 16-year-old and a juvenile female in his car, and brandished firearms. No one was injured in the incident. Fornea was charged with possession of a firearm on school property. The 16-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm on school property by delinquent and two charges of aggravated assault by delinquent. He is currently being held at the Blount County Juvenile Facility.
