FIRE KILLS ANIMALS AT ZOO IN ANDERSON COUNTY
Officials say several animals were killed and some injured in a fire that broke out at Little Ponderosa Zoo in Anderson County early this afternoon (Monday, December 4, 2017). Five volunteer fire departments responded, as well as the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Some zoo workers reportedly suffered minor injuries as they worked to get animals out of the barn. The workers were treated on scene by paramedics. A firefighter was also taken to Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge for a minor injuries. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental at this time.
