Wildfires have been a nuisance for the last few weeks across the region. A huge fire was reported in Morgan County Monday afternoon around Noon. Crews from Cumberland and Roane Counties were requested for mutual aid in attacking the blaze which was located just off Airport Rd. in the area of 525 WMA Rd. At the time, three homes in the area were reportedly in the fire’s path, but this morning Assistant Cumberland County Fire Chief John Hall told 1057 News that the fire had been brought under control. It was located less than three miles from the Catoosa Wildlife Area.
