The University of Tennessee may be getting a new sports complex. Researchers unveiled plans for a $43 million center that would emphasize athletic performance with an eye toward safety and includes a variety of indoor/outdoor fields that would host sporting and training events from youth to professional. The plan would also allow research on turfgrass, biomedical and kinesiology to study athletic performance along with ways to reduce the number of sports injuries. The plans were introduced this week at a forum at the Athletic and Performance Center.
